As the movie He’s Fair Not That Into You suggests, the rules of dating have changed drastically. There is slight pursuit, getting to know each other before having sex or polite dumping anymore. In fact, dating has become an online sport of sorts. Women are having to figure out the truth of a man that they only know on veil.So what is a woman to do that wants to date without all the drama and keep from finding out her online stud is an offline dud.?
- Go slow: If you have only met the guy online, don’t start planning the wedding in your head. Many a woman has been surprised by their “dream” date, when they finally met in person. This is tough for women, because they want to feel connected, and like they belong to someone, but it has to be that way.
- Don’t spill too much at first: Guys complain that women swear them way too much information about them on their first date. They say they know everything from the time they lost their virginity to how many swingers’ parties they have participated in. All that info is a turnoff to a new guy, because it leaves him no reason to get to know a girl.
- I don’t care how hot he is; hold the lid on the sex on the first date: Again, an disclose of too much too soon. Now, of course, no guy on the planet would complain of the offer, but the women do the next day. Giving out some booty does not obligate him to date you; just like him buying you dinner does not obligate you to sleep with him.
- Make dating fun: Men and women are different on their idea of fun, but how about something neutral like a local event. Generally, they are more creative than a dinner and movie, less intimidating, and it allows people to be comfortable. Something fun would be like a travelling carnival, art walk, or something like that.
- Recognize the date for what it is. If it is a one night stand, then leave that person alone after that, and move on. If they don’t call you, don’t bother them with your calls. OK, maybe one call just in case their cell phone got sucked down a sewer and they lost your number. Even though women are having more one night stands, they feel guilty about it, and try to make that one night into a relationship in order to feel better about sleeping with the guy. See, that is why step 3 is considerable.
- Have an “out” plan. Make sure friend(s) know where you are, and who you are with. If you derive out this is psycho guy, the cell phone is your friend. Have a friend call you at a certain time to check in with you.
- Don’t take him to your home until you know it is for more than a night. Sorry, but a hotel will do, particularly if you have kids. This is a safety issue for the most part. Women with children should not introduce to a guy to their kids that may not be around after breakfast.
Dating can be fun, but it can be an emotional nightmare to a woman who does not know the rules have changed, and how to deal with them. In this technological age, people hook up and wreck up by phone, so don’t take it too seriously.
